Joe the Real Deal

A nice fall slackpack on the Appalachian Trail in New York through Harriman State Park, Bear Mountain State Park, and Fahnestock State Park after my buddies dropped out on this trip. I think I saw Robert Plant at the Lemon Squeezer! I had views of New York City and enjoyed lunches at the delis, but I had a surprising amount of solitude on the trail. I camped part of the time at the lovely Stephen & Betsy Corman AMC Harriman Outdoor Center at Bear Mountain where I enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake.
